Make sure you have selected the first slide where you want the music to start BEFORE inserting the music.

 

It's like using a word processor. How do you know where you will be typing when there are already words? You move the cursor and click to select the insertion point.

 

Videowave works in a similar way. You need to select where you want the music before you insert it.

 

If you are using the slideshow wizard, perhaps someone else can help. I never use that.
