Problems Burning/copying Dvds

Question

have a friend who just bought a new computer that has Vista on it and I guess he's trying to burn a DVD he already has but It won't even come up for him to download it. He bought the new Roxio 2009 software but still can't get it to come up so he can start burning the DVD. The software that came with his new computer he bought only burns data DVDs but I'm guessing he has a movie DVD he's trying to copy. The Roxio software he bought won't even install. It said he needed to install Roxio 10 first but that didn't come with the software he bought. Thanks

First off, if it's a copy protected (commercial) DVD, no version of Roxio will copy it.

Versions that usually come pre-installed on systems are usually crippled and can only do a few things and if you want to do more complicated things, an upgrade is the way to go.

You'll have to be much more specific on the problems he's having with installing the new software before anyone can begin to help you.
