lynn98109
One of the problems is there are still only 24 hours in a day. With people spending more of that time making their own DVDs, having a Second Life online, playing multi-player games online - there's less time left for listening to music, whether CD or .mp3's. That would logicly lead to lower sales. Lynn
sknis
Let see: "For Atlantic Records, the label that in years past has delivered artists like Ray Charles, John Coltrane and Led Zeppelin..." and "Atlantic, whose artists include the Southern rapper T. I., the rock band Death Cab for Cutie and Kid Rock..." More "artists" here. Old guys like me still buy and listen to good music; that ain't it ! Also, I wonder what effect that Internet Radio and XM radio (other legitimate sources) have on sales. I'm listening to Internet radio as I type. Sorry, a little bit of drift here. Didn't cd post a story a while back about ac/dc or another big name group that won't even let them sell their songs on itunes? Funny how different approaches must work for different groups. Big_Dave
I am not surprised with that article. Even more are getting into video streaming and video downloads. The future for fixed media is not looking good although smaller media form factors (Blu-Ray movie on chip) may slow the decline.
