Help: Vista 64 Bit Nothing In This Forum Has Worked Emc 10 Must Be Installed

rondraw

Question

I have two different versions of the software and I cannot install either on my new Sony VAIO Vista 64 Bit Laptop.

I have both the full edition bought from ROXIO Website and delivered as a DVD and the Creator 2009 Special Edition from BJ's with the video capture USB Device

The full edition does not install no matter what I disable (MSCONFIG + Virus-Firewall) Clean install or not the Hot Fix does not find anything to fix

The Special EditionInstalls clean without most features and the Main Application/Icon also no matter what I disable (MSCONFIG + Virus-Firewall) Clean install or not the Hot Fix does not find anything to fix

I finallygot the full version to install on XP with a clean install but Vista does not seem to work whatever I try. I even tried the clean recipe for success, Installing the microsoft updates and keeping a copy of milcore.dll

I want this to work on the new laptop to support my new HD camcorder

HELP!!!!!!

I run Vista 64 Ultimate, and Creator 2009 installed fine, and all functions appear to work. I have however had several problems with other software installs. This is my recommendation to try since all else has failed for you. Follow the instructions for the clean install listed in this newsgroup, however prior to reinstall do the following:

1. On the control panel choice User Accounts, and turn off User Account Contriol. (Will turn it back on when done. This will require reboot)

1. After reboot, right click on each item on the right side of the taskbar, and exit every program there (If possible).

2. Suspend you anti-virus if possible

3. On the DVD from Roxio, right click the Setup or install and run as adminstrator. (I don't have DVD so don't know if it is setup or install)

4. On the control panel choice User Accounts, and turn on User Account Contriol. (This will require reboot)

Hope this helps you. I am a programmer, and this is the only way I could get my programming language (Delphi) to install correctly.

I just made aother attempt at a clean install. I followed the directions and cleaned everything out.

It still failed with the EMC 10 Must Be Installed Message. The Hot Fix did not find anything to correct and told me it was a valid install

Anyone have any more ideas, And once again thanks for all the help

Thanks to those that replied. I have tried all of the suggestions and numerous clean installs and all suggestions with no success.

Current State:

Full version fails installation with EMC 10 Must be Installed message and rolls back

Special edition reports successful install with no main program and 9 applications installed (Back Up Program Missing)

Anyone have any more ideas?
