Windows Media Player

CdnGord

Question

Not sure if this is the right section or not. I want to buy 2009, but the question I have is this - a number of devices that I use are only compatible with Windows Media Player. So, if I create playlists in Creator 2009, can they be just as readily viewed in WMP? Or maybe the question I need to ask is this - what file format is used by Creator for playlists, and are there any options?

Thanks

Gord.

A playlist is a playlist,it's just a text file.If you have the correct format for the media player it can use it.WMP would use the .wpl format.Others may use something different.

In Roxio the playlist is not created until the disc is burned.Since you can only burn to a disc or an image you'd have to burn a cd or create an image, then open it and copy the playlist out of it to get at it.

Thanks Jim. Does that apply to Playlists that are intended to be used on Media Players, or just for burning a CD of the list?

Gord.

Gord: What I showed only applies to MP3 CD Burning.

I do a minimal of Audio work but as far as I can tell, this is the only time a Playlist is created. – I thought I had a cool workaround to it but it didn't pan out…
