Installing Says Complete But Doesnt Install

Tia

Question

I have purchased the creator 2009 special edition. From reading the back of the box it seems I have all the minimum requirements. I have windows XP. When I try to download the creator dvd software I fill in all the necessary information then click install, the installing bar that tells you your status is already up to "installing Microsoft.Net3.5" it never moves past this point and it never works its way up to this point. However, in the end it says the installation was successful. But the product is no where to be found on my computer. How can I make this product work on my computer.

Same exact problem on XP. I did the "Clean Install Instructions for Creator 2009 on Windows XP" and it did not help the problem. Looks like there is a SP1 download that is suppose to fix .NET problems on XP systems, but you can not get it as a standalone. Have you come up with a fix for your problem?

The SP1 update for 2009 is for a problem with a MS update but to get the suite to install, the MS update must NOT be there in the first place.

It's not quite Catch 22 - the patch is to prevent the MS one from hitting a working installation.

You have to completely REMOVE dotNET 3.5 and dotNET 2.1 first - install and then run the 2009 SP1 patch.
