wattersk
I just purchased Toast 9 for Mac. Running Leopard 10.5.5. First attempt to use gets message: The drive reported an error: medium error, Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03 Trying to copy a DVD I made with Ulead VideoStudio 11. Help! mdfuller
Is your friend also trying to copy a DVD made with Ulead? If not what is the friend trying to copy? Has your friend tried Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden? Is the friend trying to use +R /-R or RW? Has your friend used Toast before? Does the rest of Toast work? Does your friend's computer meet the minimum requirements? I'm shooting in the dark here, you have given me no information to work with. I wonder if "wattersk" was able to find the problem. It would have been great if that poster came back and gave us some results. Nothing to do with Ulead. Just trying to burn some good ole fashion data. I will look into the media type. Friend has been using Toast for as long as I can remember. His MacBook Pro more than meets the requirements. I did notice he has a different burner than my MBP. Sorry about the lack of info. sknis
Friend has the same problem. Tried different media - no go. Have your friend post the error message that he/she gets. Did you read all those posts in the Apple forum. Maybe the burner is going/is bad.
mdfuller
It has worked fine since he bought the Mac. He loaded 9 and it doesn't work. I know it is possible, but highly unlikely. The error is the same one the original poster described.

A wise old sage said: "Read error message and you will understand". What do you think that medium error means? You have a bad disc, set of discs or your burner will not handle that disc. Sometimes you will get the error if your burner is going bad. Do not use Memorex, do not use store brands. Read this and many others if you Google.
