Installation Stops At "installing Emc 11 Content"

Stuart K

Question

I have been trying to install Creator 2009 which I purchased from Costco. It seems that when the installation gets to installing "EMC 11 Content" the hard drive clicks like it cannot find that file to install. I have let it click for 15 plus minutes and it just continues without installing. I do not have any virus protection running. When I try to quit the installation it is having the same problem with "preparing to rollback" section. I have tried to re-install the program several time. Would like to install this program sometime today, Saturday. Thank you

I have same problem, with new DVD version. Did all clean install steps first. Always stops and rolls back after EMC 11 Content Step. I tried copying DVD contents to HDD and installing from there... when copying I came up with whole bunch of random bad files on the DVD.. all in several folders within EMC Content 11\Program Files\Roxio\VideoUI 11\Content\... Tried copying most good files, omitting the bad ones.. then tried re-installing from HDD.. stops and rolls back at the same point.

No answer from Roxio support ticket... would guess a bad DVD ?

Anyone else have this??

Question, do you think you can eliminate files from a installation DVD and it would work correctly?

Put the DVD in a Drive open the Drive/Disc in explorer, edit, select all, then copy and paste to a folder on your hard drive. If it errors while copying it's the disc, clean it if it does it again the disc is bad return it.

Similar problem with roll back. Purchased from Best Buy. I did check the disc and clean very carefully. Opened a ticket 646340 with Roxio yesterday. Waiting.

There's no help anyone can give for a bad disc - you just have to bring it back to wherever and get it replaced

So, Mr Bill, unless you also have a faulty disc, you can't have the same problem - why not start a fresh thread and say just WHAT your problem is

And we don't need tech support ticket numbers here - we aren't tech support ;)

Soiunds very like it - I take it you checjed for fingerprints and cleaned the disc

If it's bad, bring it back wherever you got it, slap the sales assistant round the ears with it and say politely

Good sir - kindly replace this

;)
