Easy Media Creator 10 Update

When Easy Media Creator 10 was first released, I purchased it on-line and received backup media (a CD) from Digital River. My version is 1.0.044 and the build is 100B44B, R03.

 

Recently, I happened to notice (on the Roxio web site) that there is an update available for "retail" versisons of Easy Media Creator 10. It goes on to state that this update is for retail versions only. Digital River represents Roxio for on-line purchases (or at least they did a year ago). Therefore, I guess I am to conclude that my version is "not" a retail version, even though I have a CD of the program from Digital River.

 

In any case, can anyone tell me if I need this update? What is the update for? I remember in Creator 9 there was a "big to do" about the patch update that was ultimately resolved when the update for Easy Media Creator 9.1 was released. However, again, I don't know anything about this update for version Easy Media Creator 10.....or if I would even be successful in downloading and installing the update, since I purchased my program from Digital River on-line.

 

Any comments or feedback would be appreciated.

Glad I saw this (and the posts from August 3rd and 4th). I will not go through with the update after downloading the large exe files for 10.1.226. Other companies and other software manage to apply fixes and patches so easily but not Roxio. This update required that EVERYthing be uninstalled first before the update. Given the potential nightmare that uninstalling and reinstalling Roxio can be it does not seem worth the risk.

My reason for originally wanting the update was hoping for a fix to a problem but since Roxio doesn't specify which fixes are there it's not even know to me if my problem wold be addressed.

10.1 isn't a patch - it's the complete suite (and it's only available to people who have 10 already, so don't think that you get a 'free' version by downloading it )

 

It does fix certain errors - but not knowing which you have, I can't say whether or not it will work for you

This update/download 10 ver. 10.1.226 (Build : 112B62A, R03) does not offer any new features.

 

If your current version is working without problems, I would leave well enough alone!

Even worse, this update/download 10 ver. 10.1.226 (Build : 112B62A, R03) will prevent you from using any label (.jwl) files you've made with an earlier version of Label Creator - even the 10.0 Label Creator.
