How Do I Make A 3 Featured Mac Cd?

OzSanta

Question

G'day all

Problem : I want to make a Data CD that has certain sized icons in a

certain position, a background picture, and that automatically opens

the disk on insertion, on a Mac.

By making a temporary partition and placing the image on it with the

positioned icons, I can get the first two features, but it won't

automatically open.

If I make a Mac only disk, I can get it to open with the image, but

the icons are in the wrong place, and the wrong size.

Any ideas on how to make a CD with all three features please?

G'day again

Thats what I did, quit toast and the temporary partition was left behind, but when logging on, it had disappeared.

Toast creates it as a .toast image file. It is on your hard drive somewhere. It's just not mounted.

I'm trying to remember how this works. I think you set it up the way you want with the temporary partition, including leaving the window open. Then you log off and back on. Burn the disc image using the Copy window. I think this leaves the instruction to open the window.

Thanks DG, but the temporary partition disappears when logging back on.

That surprises me. Maybe you need to quit Toast before logging out. When you quit Toast it asks if you want the temporary partition to be deleted and you answer no. It will be there when you log back in but it won't be mounted. Selecting it in the Copy window should mount it.
