What Is The Best Way To Pull Out A Short Segment?

If you have an hour show recorded in Windows Media Center, what is the best way of pulling out a 4 minute segment of that into a separate file? Can you save it to be used later with other segments to make a DVD later? Or do you have to use that and other segments in videowave (trimming away everything else?), and combine them all at once to make a DVD?

 

I'm sure someone knows a good way of doing this. Please enlighten me or point to another thread in which this is discussed.

Media Import – right click the clip and Select Scenes. Pick a point at the beginning and another at the end.

 

Load the scene for the 'end' into VideoWave.
