Transitions Not Burning On Mydvd

When I "preview" my movie in MyDVD all of the transitions (dissolves) work fine. But when I burn that same project none of the transitions work as they should. The screen will darken at the end of one frame and the beginning of the next where the transitions are supposed to be so there is some recognition but the full effect is not there. I have cut all transitions and replaced them, saved and tried burning again but still have the exact issue. I have created a previous project that worked fine, the only difference that I can recall is that I tried to adjust the elapsed time of the transitions in the project that is not working. But like I said, I cut them all out and replaced them so that should have been resolved if it were a factor. any help would be appreciated thank you

If you are on retail version 9.0 then you might want to try the 9.1 update that is available on the web site. Also, besure that the following items are up to date:

 

Directx

DVD/CD firmware

DVD/CD software driver

Video card driver

Roxio 9 pxengine update

Try this. Leave your first dissolve transition where it is. Right after that dissolve, insert a black color panel. After that black color panel, add another dissolve transition, then whatever video or picture you want, after that dissolve.

 

You will have to do some adjustment to the duration of the black panel, to get the dissolves to look like a fade out, fade in. When I do it this way, my black panel is set to 5 seconds, and the dissolves on either side are set to 2.5 seconds.

 

I build all of my productions in VideoWave, not MyDVD. VideoWave is the program for creating and editing productions, and MyDVD is the program for creating menus, adding menu audio, and burning your VideoWave production.

Thank you I will try this. Meantime now that I have created this MYDVD production that has one movie linked via a menu, is there any way I can open this movie portion (Roxio MyDVD Project)of the production in My Videowave (Roxio Media Production)and edit it there?

Yes but not easy…

Wow, thanks Jim....... I read thru the backdoor approach, and yes it will not be easy, but I may have to go there to resovle this transition issue because as you stated MyDVD is not the best place to do all the editing. Now that I think about it that would be the one other pertinent difference between the project that worked(dmsm) and the one that didn't (dmsd). thanks again
