Problem Open Emc9 Mydvd File In Roxio 2009

SamusMui

Question

I bought the Roxio 2009 Special Edition in Costco successfully installed it.

When I opened my EMC9 project ( 1 menu with 5 slideshows) in MyDVD, I got complained about 6 missing picture files , and the filename are not the name I had.

Eventhough I chose "SKIP", still unable to "edit Movie". 2 of the 5 slideshows were running good, the missing files were from the other 3.

In order to see what files were missing, I made up the pictures with the filename it complained,

Then, In the "edit movie", I realized all the 6 missing files where the pictures that I "CROP" in EMC9, and changed to a different but very close filename. For example, my filename was IMG_245.jpg, the file Roxio2009 complained was IMG_2450.jpg. It has an extra 0 attached. I of the filename had number 1 attached.

Another problem was the narration was put in the music track.

I finally had all the six files replaced, put the narration back on where it should be, and all 5 slideshows run beatifully in preview. :)

BUT when I go to validate project, I got a list of warning about "missing data file"! and burnt to DVD was a failed :(

It's disappointed that Roxio 2009 cannot open EMC9 project correctly.

EMC 9 project files are not compatible with C2009 (nor are any from previous versions).

BTW, Roxio does not change the name of of any source file used.

Hi MyGuggi,

Thank you for letting me know that they are not compatible! :(

I opened my EMC9 project because I didn't see any different MyDVD in EMC9 and the 2009 version. Except those files that I "fixed" last time, I got rid off all the warnings by deleting all the audio files, narrations, and reimport them. No problem in validation, preview it and burnt in successfully! :)

Now that I know I was not SUPPOSE to open a previous version project, but as I did, Roxio did change the 6 filenames of those that I "CROP"/eidt in EMC9. ( well, Roxio just added extra digit and the end!) The rest of the other filenames are all correct.

Will keep playing with this version. (I just got it less than a week ! )
