Avi To Dvd Conversion

Question

Greetings,

I am using Creator DE v9.0.116 on a Dell Inspiron with Vista. When I attempted to add a movie in .avi format into my project, the program would not recognize it. I checked the codec with gspot and it is XviD. I used a trial version of a competitors conversion software to see if this was the problem, and was able to convert it to a recognizable format, .VOB, which I could then add to the project.

Is there a way to do this conversion within Creator, so I don't need the extraneous software?

Thanks very much,

Tom

Thanks Beerman and Brendon!

Can either of you (or others) tell me if an upgrade to Creator 2009 will perform those conversions? If so, I'll gladly upgrade.

Off topic: I used to be a homebrewer. When all else fails, I rely on the mantra: relax...have a homebrew!

Regards,

Tom

Yes, Creator 2009 will be able to use the Xvid files.

OEM versions or computers with preinstalled versions are almost always not fully functional and won't be able to work with divx and xvid files. You'll need to upgrade to the full version for that.
