roxiousr1
As far as I'm aware (no disrespect Brendon and I'll buy the beers here) the basic rule is that you can have it on one machine. Should the original machine become defunct in any manner (ie, physically broken) then it can be installed on a replacement. You will be asked on re-registration to provide a few more details as the server will have the original registration details. It's a similar setup to re-installing after a re-format of your computer If you are selling the machine, then you have to remove the licensed copy prior to sale However, this does NOT apply to OEM copies - they are specifically 'one off' and cannot be installed on any other machine (or even used if the hardware they were bundled with is replaced) gi7omy, thanks a lot for the information. Hopefully, one does not have to do re-registeration, but having the option of re-registering your product on a different machine is definitely helpful and is worth the money you paid for the software. roxiousr1
The EULA states One PC – One Install. Jim thans for the answer. What if the PC that has the s/w gets crashed and machine is irrecoverable ? Will I be install and register on the other machine ? If so, what's the process ? Brendon
This is a legal issue you're asking about, rather than a technical one. We are enthusiastic users who try to help other users make the software work by telling you how to do it. Whether you're allowed to do it is a question you'd need to ask your lawyer, after providing him with a copy of the EULA and a great number of your hard-earned dollars. gi7omy
It's pretty much in the same vein as reformatting your hard drive and re-installing windoze and all your software. Obviously, the 'record' of registration vanished in the re-format but, as someone who has re-installed a number of times, I can assure you that it's totally painless Well, that is unless the reg servers are having one of their mad moments and can't connect
