Roxio 10 Problem?

eugenetyson

Question

Hello all and sorry for barging straight in with a question. If this has been addressed in another part of the forum then please let me know. Thanks

I bought my computer directly from Dell and it came preloaded with software, and Roxio is giving me odd problems.

Very frustrating thing keeps happening.

Sometimes when I right click, it could be anywhere, on the web, on the desktop, in the taskbar, etc., my computer keeps coming up with a message saying that

It's weird that it's when I right click, it also happens if I hit the windows key and E to bring up Explorer

very odd

Roxio Creator 10 needs to install something.

Next two screens that come up are

When it gets to the end it does this

Any ideas on how to fix it?

It's a guess but certain registry cleaners can mess up Roxio and you then need to have the disc to either fix it or do a clean install by removing the whole program and starting over. Did your computer come with a Roxio disc? You may have to contact Dell for this if it did not.

Well it came with Roxio installed. I'm not sure if I got the discs? I'll check though, good idea.

I haven't run any registry cleaners on my computer.

Any ideas why it's only when I right click (completely random) and/or use the Window Key + E?

It happens because the install is corrupt. If Dell didn't include the disc (most unlikely) they will ship you one if you call.

Thank you, I reckon that is worth a try.

Have you ever tried to call Dell support? It's not that pleasant. Hopefully I'll have the disk.

It doesn't seem to explain the inexplicable case of right clicking causing the dialog boxes coming up?

I guess I'd have to visit a Vista forum for that doozie.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll give it all a go and see how it goes.

If I find a fix other than what was mentioned here I'll let ya'll know

Ok, I've tried re-installing it.

It's still throwing up the same problem. It's very strange.

There is a folder on the Disc calle "EMC_DELL_101"

It's similar in name to one of the sreen shots I posted, not exactly though. I'll try a clean uninstall tomorrow and try installing from scratch.

In the mean time, I'll find a Vista forum and see if they know why the right click or Window + E brings up the installation when I'm not even clicking on anything related to Roxio.

Regards
