Burning Dvd's

portfoleyo

Question

I am having a problem burning a simple dvd. I have a 3gig .mpg file that i want to burn to dvd. I bring it into toast 9 and it goes through the mulitplex procedure and then it writes the disc. The end result is a video that skips through like it's being fast forwarded and the file size is only 278 megabites. I had successfully made a copy a few weeks back. How can i fix this problem? This video plays fine on the toast video player.

I've tried this on my internal drive and my firewire external drive

I am using an imac intel core duo 2Ghz, 3gigs of ram

Toast is 9.0.1

(I should mention that i'm very new to Toast 9)

Download the Toast 9.0.4 update. Your version was pretty buggy.

Also, choose Save as Disc Image instead of clicking the burn button. When that is finished mount the resulting .toast file and preview in DVD Player. If that looks good then use the Image File setting in the Copy window to burn the disc image to DVD.

This workaround shouldn't be necessary but I prefer creating disc images as a first step in any case.

Thank You so Much!! Seems to be working as planned! I was putting off doing an update due to all the horror stories i heard about burning issues. Your advice worked great! Thanks again!
