Easy DVD Copy 2 Bugs

Hi,

I am having trouble getting a response from Roxio about the various bugs I have encountered with Easy DVD Copy 2, specifically the bug with WMV movie files being deleted after copying from a DVD. The program gets to 100% then literally deletes the file. Crazy. Here are the bugs in Easy DVD Copy 2 discovered in my first day of use, listed below. I paid $49.99 for the product and am way, ahem...bugged, that I can't get it to work. By the way, once these bugs are fixed, this will be hands down the best DVD-to-WMV converter product on the market, better than InterVideo DVD Copy 4.

* Bug when rendering a 640x480 WMV movie and the file is automatically deleted after 100% completed!!! After waiting 7 hours for my render it was all a waste. I have tried this over and over. 4 out of 4 bombed. (Interestingly, the program's log file, Discopier8.log, shows 98%, 99%, and 100% completion reached but often shows 'Cancel Pressed'. What?! I was nowhere near my computer.)

* Bug after closing Roxio Easy DVD Copy 2, and later cannot restart by double-clicking the DVD Copy 2 icon in the same Windows session. (Problem: 'DiscCopier8.exe' is still running in the Task Manager processes list even though the program was closed and not visible anywhere)

* Bug when switching from DVD to Disc Image modes after cancelling the DVD-caching routine: After switching and starting the Disc Image render the DVD drive erroneously spun up and started rendering the first (cancelled) DVD image. I ejected the DVD and saw the render then move to 'Phase 2 of 2', which was the Disc Image file movie. There's more. I then deleted the single movie item out of my Source list and a second appeared out of nowhere in the same place. Looks like the first one was still in the list and just hidden, despite the Cancellation.

* Needed feature: After Cancelling a render, give the option to not delete the file. This would have been especially helpful after I lost my super-long renders, or when I'm running a quick test render so I can sample the profile's quality and want the sample to remain for viewing after pressing Cancel.

* Requested feature: Add a 2GB Memory card option - the jump from 1GB to 4.7 GB is too big. Most 2-hour movies will look awesome as 2GB WMV 640x480 files, and will save the extra 2.7GB size jump.

CALLING ALL ROXIO DEVELOPERS: Please take this report seriously and get a patch out or upgrade me to Easy Media Studio Suite 8 (if the DVD Copy there does not have the same bugs). If you cannot do that, please at least respond with a progress update, a confirmation, etc.

Hi Jeremy,

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news here, but this site is provided by Roxio , it is not managed by them,

as this site is provided as a user forum, and not technical support.

there are very few Roxio staff on here, (except maybe Patrick) and there is never any developers on this board, all i can suggest is that if you have a development issue is to use the email contacts (under the contacts page) and pass that information on that way.

other than that if you have an issue on the program side , post it to the relevant topic and we can see if other users here can maybe give you a lead or a solution.

regards

I guess that I would have to tell you to get a full version of EMC 7.5 or EMC 8.0 and get rid of whatever the hell you have now, because no one here knows that program that you are using.

You have been told this before, yet you continue to beat a dead horse. You really need to contact Roxio directly, and this is not the vehicle to do it.
