Bogus Trial Period [redbox Version]

Question

Roxio Easy CD and DVD Burning

Version: 9.0.554

Build: 905B54T, R01

 

Every three weeks it says the trial period has expired. This was a purchased product from Best Buy and should have no expiration period. I have to uninstall it and reinstall it.

 

I complained to Roxio, but have heard NO response from them.

I'm guessing you are running a registry cleaner - that is a known issue (the 'cleaner' cleans out keys that it isn't supposed to)

Yes - I do run a registry cleaner periodically. I checked with the post yuou recommend, and it looks like I have to reinstall.

No, you don't have to reinstall.

 

Try the Repairer from the link in that post. It avoids the need to reinstall and corrects the registry key so it doesn't get broken by registry cleaners any more. :)

I did unload the repairer after I re-read the post. I have it ready to use after I do the next registry clean.

No, you don't have to reinstall.
