Creator 2009 Will Not Launch

Hi all,

 

I am having issues with launching my creator 2009. When I double click to open/launch the program a little box pops up and says "Roxio Creator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Than it ask if I want to send an error report. It does not tell me what is wrong with it or give me an error code. Can somebody tell me how to fix this problem?

You still havern't answered the point on your graphics - as I said earlier, that particular error is usually associated with problems in the graphics card (whether it's a low-end setup or out of date drivers)

I followed your directions step by step and it did not help! I was able to successfully re-install my program but it will still not open and the same message popped up. Any other ideas?

If you go through the Start menu tree, can you successfully launch the individual programs from there?

 

 

If so then you would need to apply the SP1 update to Creator 2009 – Here

I was able to go into MY DVD and create a Dvd. It will not let me burn. It says "8004520c Error while Encoding Movie 1" Any clue? Why won't it let me burn and why can't i just launch the program?

Cut the size down a bit please - I get the feeling you're shouting at us

 

That's usually down to graphics - what graphics card are you using (model number and memory)?

Launch any other app through the Start Menu and click on Help – Check for Updates.

 

SP2 should resolve this issue.

 

Hi thanks for responding. SP2 is already installed. I get "The Software Manager did not find updates for your application"."

That is completely different from what you posted. Sorry I can't help you if I don't understand you… At this point I don't have a clue what you are after.

Individual programs are running but Roxio 2009 will not launch and I don't get any error messages (also checked EventVwr but did not see any records with any clues)

 

Have performed a clean re-install and installed SP2. I wasn't able to follow the .NET re-installation in one of the previous posts as the links did not work for me.

 

Any ideas where I can take it from here ?

I had a similar problem. I could install Creator 2009 but couldn't open/launch it. While I tried the time consuming clean install instructions, they didn't help.

 

What did work for me was after installing Creator 2009 and Creator 2009 Service Pack 1, I then:

 

1. Deleted all versions of .NET Framework with Windows Installer CleanUp Utility http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9...1bd/msicuu2.exe

 

2. Installed Windows Installer 4.5 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.as...isplayLang%3den

 

3. Installed .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.as...isplayLang%3den

 

4. Installed DirectX End-User Runtime http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.as...isplayLang%3den

 

Hope this helps others to get Creator 2009 to open.

That is completely different from what you posted. Sorry I can't help you if I don't understand you… At this point I don't have a clue what you are after.

 

 

Here is what is happening.......

 

I still can not launch the program from clicking on Roxio Icon. I did the "Clean Install". I still could not launch the program from the Roxio Icon. You told me that I could launch individual programs by using the pull down list. I was able to launch the "My Dvd" program but it will not let me burn. I will just return this product and get my money back and go with a different program. It just easier.
