Emc 10 Creating Slideshow

Dan34

Question

EMC 10 could be a great tool but its help content stinks because it refers many times to EMC 9 which can't be found in 10.

In Create Slideshow Assistant why "save a project" which will be a *.dmss type which then can't be retreived for editing or prepare for burning. What good is it? You "create file" by adding pics and audio plus defining a template with all the desired selections but never to see it again. So, you have to burn what you have before exiting the slideshow assistant or you will not be able to bring it back for editing and burning when you have more time. After creating the slideshow, how do you retrieve it for further changes or modification and burning?

Reporting back: I tried Purpose: High Def/AVCHD, created in Slideshow Asst but the disc would not play on the Blu-Ray player. However, EMC 10 has a Purpose: "BluRay Authoring"/BluRay EP. This solved my needs since it provides an absolute great slideshow with audio movie. Thanks for all the help. Dan

I never heard of that happening in the assistant, but I only used the assistant, once.

Use VideoWave, from the beginning, and your problems may disappear. Try it, and let us know how it goes for you.

Thanks, Vlideowave works but now am wanting to burn disc for Blu-Ray playback. Any ideas? Dan34

I don't think EMC 10 burns BlueRay. Do you have a BlueRay burner?

No Blu Ray burner, but do have a 20x DVDR LIGTSCRB and a LG Super Multi Rewriter. I have a Sony Blue Ray player and want to get the best HD pic using the Blu Ray. The reason I began trying to develop a slideshow using EMC 10 Slideshow Assistant was the more setup elections that are available. Example in the set up under "Purpose" one has a Blu Ray encoding election. But apparently (based on your question) I need a Blue Ray burner and Blue Ray Discs? I would post my PC equipment list ,as I have noted others who have, but haven't figured how to do that on this site yet. I'm very new to Creator and there is a lot to absorb but with yours and others help I should get to the point of enjoying the thing.

Go to the top of this page and select "My Controls" - look to the left and select edit signature. Type in/Paste what you want.

An alternative is AVCHD. It is Blu Ray quality video on a standard DVD made with a standard burner. Time limit is less than an hour.

Check to see if you can play a AVCHD disc on that player. EMC10 does not have the ability to burn but Creator 2009 with the add on does.

If you just want to look at the pictures, you can see if the Blu Ray player will play a jpeg picture disc. That just the pictures burned to the disc as data. It will be high quality. It has to be in the file format that the player needs.

BTW, most Blue Ray players will upscale a standard DVD to close to Blu Ray quality.

Also Video Wave will allow you to "output" your project to the same options as any of the Assistants.
