ArrogantRoxioCannon
Im trying to install and use the roxio software for my cannon dc50 camcorder and can't get any help. Cannon sent me to roxios webpage which doesn't have help other than to buy more roxio junk. I called roxios number and they would help for $1.85 per minute! $500 for this camera and can't burn a dvd. This is the ultimate in corporate arrogance.

This is the ultimate in corporate arrogance. Based on the lack of information regarding the nature of the difficulties you are experiencing, as well as the fairly sour manner in which you chose to post your topic, I doubt that you will be any more successful in getting help here in this user's forum. gi7omy
If the software was bundled with the Canon - you have to contact Canon for support OEM s/w support is provided by the supplier
ggrussell
What Roxio software do you own? The Canon DC50 is a miniDVD camcorder. Make sure the miniDVD is finalized before using that in a computer or Windows won't be able to read the disc. We need to know what Roxio software you own before we can help. Brendon
I think the poster has been given some free cut-down OEM software by Canon, and now wants Roxio to give free support for it. That's not the way things work, Mr/Ms Newbie. Canon is responsible for supporting the software they give you - they gave that undertaking to Roxio when they bought the software off Roxio. It is cut down to Canon's specifications, because the fewer abilities it has, the cheaper it is for Canon. Your gripe lies squarely with CANON. We volunteers here, not employed by either Roxio or Canon, will give you all the help we can but you need to tell us just what software they did give you and what your problems are, if we are to be able to help you.
