Toast Hangs On Creation Of Dvd Using Video_ts Folders

eurochez

Question

I am running Toast Titanium 8.0.4 on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5.5 and the application hangs (at the "preparing" stage) whenever I try to burn a DVD using the Video_TS folders option. I have tried lots of different types of media, I have repaired permissions, I have re-installed the application, I have asked and waited for a response from Roxio...all to no avail.

Is anyone else having this problem?

thanks in advance!

Hi there - yes I do have one of the new MBPs and I just noticed that when I go into Toast's dialog box for displaying information on my burner, the burner is listed as being on an "unknown bus" rather than on an "ATAPI" bus as reported by my MBP in "About This Mac".

The weird thing is that I can burn data CDs so it can't be a bus/burner issue?

thanks!

Rafael

Roxio acknowledged the problem in this post on November 12. They haven't posted anything about it since then but I certainly hope they are working on it. It is curious that CDs work and not DVDs.

Something you can try is to Save as Disc Image with Toast, change the resulting .toast extension to .dmg and burn the image file with Disk Utility.

Is yours one of the new series of Mac Book Pros or is it an earlier series.
