Question

Hello Everyone,

First I am not computer savvy. All i want to do is make projects for myself and family. I bought this program awhile ago (obviously as this is #7) and have not been able to use it. For whatever reason it doesn't allow me to do anything. So once and for all i thought i would uninstall and reinstall and see if that works. Now it tells me the cd's are corrupt. I paid good money for this program all for naught. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

Please list your system specs like I have in my signature. At the moment we have no information at all except "my car won't start".

EMC 7 is about 5 years old (current version is Roxio Creator 2009)

You will have to give us way more information than that if you expect any help-- (i.e. exact program you are trying to make work; information about your computer hardware and exactly what you are trying to accomplish and with what portion of the Roxio program you are working with.

Hello There,

I have a Dell dimentions 8400 that is 4 yrs old, 1 g ram and 250g hard drive. seems to have all the bells and whistles (dvd drive, cd drive all writeable) Does this help?

A bit better but still missing some info such as graphics adapter but it should work if you get EMC 7 installed.

Exactly when do you get the error messages? Can you look at the files on the CD using Windows Explorer?

Can you copy the files from the CD to a folder on your hard drive?

No when i go to reinstall it says i have corrupt or damaged files. Which i dont understand since i have only used them once and that was when i first got the program. And i kept them in there hard case. There are 2 disks

The exact program? It says Roxio Easy Media Crator 7 The digital Media Suite. I can't tell you more than that as IDK more than that.

Computer hardware? I have a DVD rewriteable drive, CD rewrite drive . My operating system is Win xp home addition.

What i am trying to accomplish is I want to do photo projects. ie make calendars and try making dvd's with music and photos i take.

does this help

Question: what is corrupt? Files on the computer or files on the install disc?

You might need to do a "CLEAN INSTALL". There are directions on the web telling you how to do that. They include going into the registry and changing values so you have to be careful. I had to do that too and had no problems re-installing. But I had to do that clean install cuz I was getting error messages too. Maybe some kind guru can tell you where to go or give a link where to go to get those step by step instructions

You should read the date of the last post in this thread: Dec 2008. The OP never came back and so is obviously not interested anymore
