Background Audio Problem

Baseballkid14

Question

I have roxio creator premier 9 and I'm trying to burn a DVD. I have the menu set up with my own picture and a bunch of movies on it. Now all I need is background audio. When I add background audio, it works but after like 10-15 seconds, the music that is playing resets itslef. So the music plays, but not all the way through. It just plays a little bit then it starts over again from the beginning. I cant figure out how to fix this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Take a look here. Not sure which menu options are available in emc9

I found this post that worked for me in MyDVD 9

http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=17162

See the post above if you want to use the "Click here for video" link

The procedure was a little confusing to me but the keys to success seemed to be

doing the "Just like in slideshow, you can select MOVIE , Fit Video/Audio" but I think

you needed to have the LENGTH first

AND

once you get to typing in the LENGTH, do NOT click out of the Settings box (just leave it open on

the screen). I think it is necessary to do this as if you X out of the Setting box it seems to reset

back to 30 seconds. (See what ggrussell says at the bottom of his post below as well)

So, setting the audio menu should probably be the last thing you do before burning to disc or ISO or both.

I used a 58 sec audio clip following the directions below (and my hints above), copied to an ISO, then burnt the

DVD and, voila, the menu audio played for 58 seconds before looping!

How to create a Menu longer than 30 seconds

with motion or music (Click here for video)

* Open MyDVD

* If you want custom audio, Select the DVD MENU and choose REMOVE MENU AUDIO at this point.

* Click EDIT MENU BACKGROUND

This brings up the default background in Videowave Editor

* Remove existing MPG/still or music if desired

* Add your custom MPG or still images

* Add your custom audio to Music track.

Just like in slideshow, you can select MOVIE , Fit Video/Audio

* Note the total LENGTH

* Click BACK TO MENU button above the preview

* Select VIEW / SETTINGS

* Make sure MOTION MENU is checked if you have MPG background or still images with music

* For duration, type in the total length that you had in the edit mode

There is a known issue when saving a project with custom menu longer than 30 seconds. When you reopen the project, the project defaults back to 30 seconds. You will need to reset the menu length when you open the file. This has been reported.

Thanks, but when add my audio and background picture, then select the movie tab at the top, the Fit Audio/Video is dimmed and I can' click on it. Why is tha and how can fix it?

Thanks

Try doing the Fit Audio BEFORE you click on Back to Menu. I don't think that was clear.

Then do the View, Settings as described and do not X out of it before you Save, Burn or Copy to ISO - that's what works for me.

And, I did notice that the Settings did revert back to 30 seconds when I tried it out on my "58 second" audio project a few minutes ago but I had left View, Settings box open when I exited so it was still there and I just bumped it back up to 58.

If by EDIT MENU BACKGROUND you mean CHANGE MENU BACKGROUND, then I did was you said. When I clicked on it and picked a custom picture, it didn't bring me up to the new videowave editor. I've gotten there before by accident so I know what you mean but I dont know how to get there.

There was a short video that went along with the instructions -- watch this.

If I may, right click on the menu display to get to edit menu. I didn't put that in the video.

Also you have the Premier edition. I think that was the basic version and may not have all the functions enabled. It was one step above an OEM.
