Problem With Label Creator

HELP! I am trying to use label creator and when i try to add an image i go to the add image file and it is appearing along with many others in light gray and is not selectable? Was this an installation problem? I purchased the Creator 2009 from Office depot so it should be the real version? HELP.. i tried to do a simple lightscribe project and it has been an all day deal!

OK.. Thank you when i am in lable creator as you have shown in that display.. the only thing i can select is scan image.. see how in your pic everything is selectable? If i am in lable creator doing a cover it is all selectable but when i try and do a disc.. the only thing selectable is scan image at the bottom.... everything else is light and wont allow me to select? I apologize for sounding like an idiot but for some reason it just seems as if something is not working with my copy... again if I am doing an insert or something it all works fine but with a disc it doesnt. Am i crazy?

First we are talking about Roxio Label Creator? This is only accessible through the Start – All Programs menu tree. Not the Express Labeler from the Home app…

 

When you click on Edit Background (1.) a widow pops up. There are 2 buttons, Browse & Scan (2.). Neither will work until you have a checkmark in Use the following images as~~~

 

After you click OK, that will be applied. That is your Background and you can only have One.

 

You can add more pictures 'on top' of the background by clicking on the Add Image (3.) near the top.

I was going to suggest a Clean Install but try the uninstall/reboot/reinstall first and see what results!

Try this as a last effort before you clean install:

 

Click on Select Style, and then select any style. The other commands, including Add Image, should become clickable. Select and delete the style you just applied and create your own custom label. (Refer to images below.)

No idea here either lol but it's been ever thus since V9. Same in V10 and C2009. I just thought that's how it worked.

 

Then I read your Lightscribe how-to post ("Start a New Project, and select Disc. Delete everything. Now pick a new Style. Delete everything, including the background (unless you really want to use them)." Seemed to go along with the way it worked for me, so I didn't question it. Other have posted the same thing, and I think this method gets it working for them.

 

Weird huh.

 

But to me it ain't broke, so I'm not fixin' it

I appreciate it and I did glance through that section however Its not that i cant print to lightscribe its that in Roxio Label creator where it allows you to go in and add an image it is grayscale and not selectable. I found one template that got me through but with version 5 of roxio i could easily do what i am attempting to do here.

Did you drag the image to the right spot on the disc?

 

Forget about V5, that's six versions ago. Unfortunately you must learn how to use the "new stuff".

Just had to use one image as a background hit unlock all so i could resize it, added soem text and moved on.. I cannot add 2 images however..when you go into label creator and go to anything except disc all the functions are available however when you go to disc you only have a few functions available.. i do not like that and I think there should be an update that would allow you to do that..

There are 20 pics on this one and recall that the ones in Tips & Tricks had 4 on each?

 

I think you are trying to do the impossible. You can have One background and only one.

 

You can then Add Images over that but the background may overwhelm them and you cannot edit the 'intensity' of the background image within Label Creator.

 

If I am still missing what you want to do, post back and explain it.
