Easy Cd & Dvd Product; Burning Issue

Denise R

Question

I created a slideshow with "Easy CD & DVD Burning" (in the red box - no version listed on the box) and attempted to burn it to a DVD. During the burn process, there is a "preview" pane of what is supposed to get burned. It showed all of my slides but added the menu page from "My DVD Express." It appeared to go through the burning process (completely through the "100% complete" message) but when I played it back, the only thing that actually burned to the DVD was the "My DVD Express" menu page...no slide show. I tried it a couple times with the same result. First, why was the menu page added and second, why was that the only thing that burned to the DVD? HELP! I am running Windowns XP with a brand-new Pioneer burner

That is usually an indication that either DirectX or your video driver are not up to date.

I would suggest using a DVD RW since you can reuse them until you get it squared away.

Hum, I guess I assumed that both of these are up to date as I literally installed a new DVD burner last week. Aren't these updated with the new driver software that was bundled with the burner? If not, I could use some help. I tried calling Roxio, Nero, Pioneer, and Dell and all of them would only help me if I paid them by the minute to talk to one of their service technicians :angry2: .

Nope - to update video drivers you have to go to nVidia or ATI and get the latest drivers from them

For DirectX you have to go to www.microsoft.com (that doesn't even update with windows updater - you have to do it manually)

I know my DirectX version is 9.0 so that should be adequate. How do I know if I should go to the nVidia or the ATI site for the proper driver?
