bimbo
Hello, I just boughted Roxio Creator 2009 yesterday and installed it. When I start the program, it searches for connection to register the product and then it freezes without registering. When I start a browser in the same time to test the Internet connection, no problem at all ;-((( What can I do? I can't open the program and register later on for example. Many thanks for each input. Bob J
Hi Bimbo I had the same problem. For some reason the "Register Online" freezes after searching for an Internet connection. Can not get rid of the window and I've left it for over an hour. Fix is simple. Restart computer. Pull the plug on your internet connection. Open Creator 2009 Due to "No internet connection" a new window comes up that asks if you want to "Retry", "Retry Later", or "Cancel". Also in this window is a check box (Do not show...... etc.) that needs to be checked so the window no longer appears when you start the program. Check the box and "Cancel". Program should start with no registration window. Plug in your Internet connection and register by going to the Roxio site.

bimbo
Hello, Thanks to all in this group for your help! I must say that I am extremely dispointed by ROXIO: I opened a help ticket on the January 9th Until today, no answer at all. Inbetween, I asked for refund because of the 30 days term of return. No answer, I had to phone! I explained why I ask for refund but would better have an answer on my help ticket. I think that I will obtain the refund but nobody was interested to help to solve the problem at ROXIO. It's a pity and it's very sad to spend time on a product that is not worse while. Shame to ROXIO ;-((( Bye ROXIO, never ROXIO anymore! Bimbo

grandpabruce
Hello, I am sory, I just saw that my link didn't work and that the site to put my print screen was not the best one;-((( Here you can see the windows that freezes by starting Roxio 2009. http://cjoint.com/?bfxJ0zvwEM What do you think of? Thanks an all for each input! Bimbo It's not English, but I would bet it says it can't connect to the server, or words to that affect.

bimbo
Hi to all, Thanks to all for your answers! As I said here, after reinstall, the registration process worked even if it taked a long time and I could burn CD. Due to XMas, I did other things and forget Creator 2009 for a while. I was just going to use it and see that the registration process started again. I let it do for an hour and also there was a good Internet connexion (tested with the browser during the reg. process!) no new registration at all. It's the first time that I have such a "comedy" with a registration process ;-((( What can I do? It's the french version of Creator 2009 but I assume that it should not behave differently than the english version! Here a screen of the froozen reg. windows http://rapidshare.de/files/41230507/Roxio_Reg_Proc.JPG.html Many thanks for your help, Bimbo

bimbo
Hello, I reinstalled yesterday evening: this time o.k and I am very happy that it worked! I don't know but it could be that I didn't wait long enough by the registering. When this is really the problem I am very stupid ;-))) All this work for that!!! Could be, yesterday I had the impression that the problem remain, waited some more time and suddenly ROXIO opened... Now just one more question if you allow: why are there two files to download? One is called "Program" and the other "Content". I have the impression that I only installed the first one ("Program"). What is "Content"? Thank you all for your kind help, past and future ;-))) Bimbo

cdanteek
Later on, I started Creator 2009 again and again it searches to connect to Roxio and freezes although I can browse Internet without problem in the same time. Bimbo, I think your seeing the C2009 Home Screen Connect to the Roxio website! Under tools, options, from the Home page, I only have the bottom two checked. The others go out and connect to Roxio's web-servers to bring you what I consider 'junk'! I don't need to axcess the internet or Roxio's site through the Home page. IMHO it's buggy bulk, added to the program that doesn't need to be there. Another thing Bimbo, Roxio's filters should stomp out the words 'clean uninstall re-install'. It is over used, over advised, and in this 'YOUR' case I doubt needed. cd
Syrallas
*** I made the clean uninstall and I will do the re-install tonight! Have you comments, something more I should do? Just make sure that when you do the install, you have temporarily disabled any anti-virus software, shut down all running programs and have disconnected from the internet. This should help the install go more smoothly.
bimbo
Hello, Thank you for your answers! After your answers, I created an account in My Account and registered Creator 2009, gave the key, everything all right! Later on, I started Creator 2009 again and again it searches to connect to Roxio and freezes although I can browse Internet without problem in the same time. I decided to make a clean uninstal / re-install. I had a Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 on my computer which I uninstalled "normally" before installing the new Crator 2009: do think could interfere? By the way, OS is Windows XP SP3. I made the clean uninstall and I will do the re-install tonight! Have you comments, something more I should do? Many thanks for your help. cdanteek
Bimbo Try this, click here... http://www.roxio.com/enu/default.html Up top in small writing, click My Account, that takes you to a signin page, signin and you'll come to this page, MyAccount. On the MyAccount page, scrool down to Register a New Product, click it, it takes you to a new page, enter you new product key there, click next and follow the prompts..... cd
