Jam Losses - Keyboard Shortcut To Play And Counter Etc Gone?

maharaj

Question

Before purchasing Toast 9, I was assured by the friendly pre-sales telephonist that all the capabilities of the discontinued Jam are now contained in Toast. BUT--

1. Jam used to have a numbered readout - as you (preview) play the CD you are about to burn, the progress in seconds would flow, you could double-click on that and enter a figure if you wanted to hear it from a particular point. Has this capability gone (along with my purchase amount) with the demise of Jam?

2. With Jam you could hit 'return' to start play from the beginning. Now it seems you can only use your mouse to click on the play arrow. Has this capability also gone (along with my purchase amount) with the demise of Jam?

3. Jam used to have a level (gain) control, enabling you to change the level on each track individually - valuable for mastering. That has also gone now?

i am not a newbie just for the record. used this for over 5 years now!

ok cancel 3. - i just found the gain control!

Toast includes the large majority of Jam's features and added a few of its own. But there are some professional features in Jam 6 not included in Toast. The person who told you Toast has all of Jam's capabilities is wrong. I suggest searching the Toast 8 forum for posts about Jam because that's where most of the complaints were posted by some Jam users.
