I have Creator 09 Ultimate -- When adding text to photos, is there a way to place it in "balloons" such as would be used to identify a specific location on a map ? I am new to all of this. Thanks. Roy Wells (joro)

I don't think that EMC 9 will do exactly what you are wanti g Roy. But I have made a couple of those ballons, but I did it manually on the photo using a paint program to make the balloon and then added the text inside the balloon. Then used the edited photo in Videowave. Manual work around though.

Can you add a effect over the text and place the text where you want it? It won't be anything like a comic balloon but it may be good enough especially if you use a fact fade in/out or just a plain pop up.

As Frank and Steve pointed out, you can use manual workarounds. Here is yet another :)

There are Speech Balloons in the ClipArt section of PhotoSuite (the image-editing application in C2009). You can find them in the Roxio Creator 2009 Program Files folder (PhotoSuite > Content > ClipArt > Speech Balloons). If there is one you like, copy it to your project folder and then add it to your production as an overlay (Add Photo/Video > Insert As Overlay). Add your text on top of it and fit the text to appear within the balloon. You can adjust the size of the balloon once it's in VideoWave. You can save the balloon as a custom overlay within VideoWave, so it will be there for you to reuse without having to retrieve it from your project folder again. (Right click on it in the Preview Window and choose Save as Custom Overlay. To reuse, Add Overlay > Custom > pick it from the list.

You did it again Karri !! It's just amazing to me how you figure out how to do all these neat things with Roxio's programs. Kudos once again !! :):)
