squeeky
Hello, Our Dell running Windows XP and Roxio ECDC 5.1 recently crashed. We didnt have to move the burner as our newer computer has a built in CD burner, and also happens to be running Windows XP. We have tried to install our original ROXIO installation disc that came with the burner, however we continue to receive a "Windows Version" error message that says that it is not compatible with this version of Windows? How is this possible to get this error message when we were previously running the software on Windows XP and trying to install on the same Windows XP? Is there a remedy because we would like to continue using this software because we like it. Thank You.
gi7omy
What SP is the new one running? While there are ways to get ECD5 up and running on SP2, I'm not certain of it will work with SP3. Also, Internet Explorer 7 and Media Player 11 did knock out EMC 7 and 8 - again, I can't be sure about

lynn98109
Also check this pinned post on a Dell-speific patch - http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=161 However, it is also possible the new burner is not in ECDC 5's burner recognition list (newer burning programs ask the burner drive for info, rather than using a list). In that case, come back with the id string of your new burner and Brendon may be able to get it recognized. Lynn
