Unable To Install - Error 007e

iSeries

Question

Have not been able to install Roxio Creator 2009 on a Dell Vostro 400 running XP SP2. Will get as far as installing EMC 11, then die with the error code 007e. Have followed the Clean Install instructions numerous times but always fails with the same message. Searches of Roxio show no hits on 007e. Any ideas before giving up?

Exactly at what point installing C2009 do you get the error? (C2009 is also known as EMC 11)

What graphics card do you have with that system?

Did C2009 come with your computer? If yes, then its an OEM version most likely and you should get in touch with Dell for help.

The is the full version Roxio Creator 2009 Special Edition purchased at Sam's. ALL Roxio products that came with the Dell were removed first, then the clean install procedures were followed numerous times with the same results.

The install process shows "Installing EMC 11" (the progress bar is about 3/4 full) then the installing message is overlaid with "Setup encountered an error during installation. Error Code: 007E". Only option is to Cancel at that point.

This system has an NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS graphics card. Win XP has been updated to SP3 with all updates installed and the latest video card drivers from Dell have been installed. Frustrating to say the least.
