No, haven't seen that behavior…

Yes it does take a long time, shorter if your source is already HD compliant but there is a lot more going on with HD! You can try switching the rendering from the default Hardware to Software – MyDVD – Tools – Options – Render (theory is that Hardware renders faster – reality, not always!)

You will also want to split up the workload. Have MyDVD burn to File (ISO) then close it and use Video Copy & Convert to burn that ISO file to disc. (this will help isolate where the problem is)

You should list your PC specs too, next time you post.

thanks jim...just got a new computer, since the reply..i will have to get some hd media in it b4 i try this avchd project again... i didn't have any luck with the old computer...the overall progress bar was at 100% and the current task completed was at 100%...the encoding preview box appeared and just stayed black at that point...did not burn the completed project....the software that came with the sony camera picture motion browser burns the media in hi-def...but i cant add music to it...that's why i tried this 2009 creator software...2009 creator does allow me to burn it in reg dvd format.... in a week or so...i'll try creating another project in avchd on this new computer..thank you for your input...hi-def jeff
