Question

Hi,

I'm a happy user of mydvd 5, the main feature I use and the reason I purchased is the Photo Archive.

I can easily make a photo slideshow disk, each slide show can have up to 99 photo's and I can put multiple on a Disk - so far the same as every other app out there....

Now mydvd 5 had a wonderful feature, if you didn't put audio on the photo's were done as encoded Jpg's so the resolution was excellent and it was not an mpg stream, each photo was placed as a chapter (hence the 99 limit ?) but also as important was the fact it put an original copy of the .jpg source image on the DVD disk meaning it was a fantastic photo archiving utility.

I once tried the trial of mydvd6 and it didn't do the same, the photo's were encoded to an mpg stream so looked very poor in comparison.

My question here is does any version since 5 support what I've described above, as unfortunately 5 doesn't do widescreen :angry2:

I think EMC 7/7.5 could create a high-resolution slideshow on a DVD as long as you didn't use any effects, transitions audio. You could also archive the jpegs used to the DVD. Of course such a slideshow is only viewable on a computer since a standard TV cannot show the high resolution. So there really is not much point to creating a slideshow. Just copying the jepgs to a DVD as data does the same.

Most programs nowadays create slideshows a video so that they are watchable on a TV. With the new HiDef TV you can of course now create HiDef slideshows with the correct software.

The OP never mention that he wanted "widescreen" until the last word in his post  he only wanted what "he described above"

I know its knitpicking but I've been shopping all day, shovelling snow .....
