Transition Themes

getting creative

Question

Help! I just got roxio creator 2009 for Christmas and I'm creating a 390 picture slide show for my in-laws 40th anniversary. Using slide-show assistant, i found 2 transition themes I like (action and 2x2). Because it's a long slide show, I want to have the first half (all old pictures) be action with 1 photo at a time each lasting 4 seconds and the second half (which is all recent pictures) be 2x2 with each photo lasting 10 seconds. How do I do this? Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm new to it myself, (bought it Dec 5th), but one way to do it would be to make two seperate presentations and splice them together using MyDVD.

For instance I'm currently creating a retrospective of the last year of Live performances for my band, Bent & Twisted, (www.myspace.com/benttwisted),

and I'm using video that I've edited using VideoWave, and will be adding 3 slideshows, each with different shows' pictures, and 2 of our songs as background music.

So far, it's going together nicely. Point is, that's one option. Have fun...

First of all, never use a simple program to do real work!

Open VideoWave (Video-Movies tab, Edit and Transfer, Edit Video-Advanced).

You are going to make 2 Projects – Old Pics & New Pics

Add all of the old pics and add the transition you want. Save As – Old Pics

New Project, next group, add transitions, Save As – New Pics.

Close VW and open MyDVD (Video-Movies tab, Create, Create DVDs-Advanced).

Add the 2 VW project files (Old Pics.dmsm & New Pics.dmsm) – Burn.

This just scratches the surface of the potential of the Suite once you get out of the A-to-B Linear thinking!

There is a forum here called Tips & Tricks to help you along.

This is about the same thing that HotRods442 said only expanded a little :D
