Conflict Between Roxio 9 And Haali Media Splitter

Ken481

Question

Hi

I do not know if anyone else is having a similar problem.

When i have the Haali Media Splitter installed - which i need to play matroska files, roxio player was not playing video from my AVCHD sony camcorder. Only sound was playing no video was playing.

Then i uninstalled the Haali Splitter and it worked normally.

Anyone has a similar problem? I have the Vista codec pack installed

The Haali program is a wonderful thing to try to get off of your computer. I have read, in different forums, about its incompatibility, and problems that it has caused, with other software on the computer.

Good luck getting it squared away, and good luck, if you ever try to get that "virus" off of your computer.

Hi Bruce

I gotta question your statement on the Haali Splitter old friend, it's not a "Virus" nor does it act as one, and is probably the highest regarded DirectShow splitter in current development. Haali is a well known codec writer and works for CORECODEC support center and almost all top Codec packs incorporate the Haali splitter with absolutely no issues, nor do I read any in the many Audio/Video forums I post in.

As with any new type of filter it has had some growing pains but this splitter has been very stable and useful pretty much from inception.

I would tend to think after my latest experience with a Creator 09 demuxer "SonicHDdemuxer.dll" basically forcing (hijacking) all DVD programs unrelated to Sonic to use one of it's proprietary dll's, that it's more a Sonic module interfering with the Haali splitter, and the outcome may be this poster's problem.

BTW Bruce, if you have any links to knowledgeable sites (not just posers) where they have Haali splitter issues, I would like to read up on that more.

I know it isn't a virus, hence the quotation marks, but from what I have read, it is harder to get off ones computer, than many viruses (virii).

I also, know about it being highly regarded, but take a walk over to Afterdawn, and read some of the problems with it, and AD does promote the program.

And, Roxio is highly regarded, too. :)

has anyone of you had conflicts between Haali and Roxio 9.

Apart from that i do not know why yet i am having a lot of crashes with Roxio 9 - mostly when dealing with .m2ts files from my sony handycam. Yesterday i spent about 1 hour editing a dvd video in my dvd and it crashed whilst encoding a .m2ts file i wanted to add to the dvd - you can imagine how i felt !! Losing 1 hour work.

Anyone with the same problem
