Roxio 2009

Terry Russell

Question

I have recently purchased new laptop using Vista premium. Also purchased Roxio 2009 and had major problems with an aborted set up. Have followed Article 000207CR (clean install instructions). However when reaching paragraph 4 giving instructions to delete files from C Drive, windows says "access denied - you need permission to take this action" Hence, although I have done Cleanup Utility, The file C:\Programme Files\Roxio Creator 2009 remains on hard drive with some 1.23GB of files within it. I have not gone any further in removing registry entries because of this. Any Advice Please. Lastly, if I am successful in removing all files, should it be safe to reinstall or am I likely to experience these problems again.

Sometimes a reboot will help you remove those files but make sure you're deleting them as Administrator.

A neat little program that helps me when I can't remove a file is Unlocker It's free and I find it works 90% of the time when I need it. However, just be sure you're removing the proper file.

Doing the clean install should work as it has for many. It's possible your laptop came with some version of Roxio on it and there could have been a conflict.
