Issue With Importing Video From Camcorder

I have a sony camcorder and am trying to import video. I dont have a problem gettig the connection, but when I select record "entire tape" it only records off 30 second slices, and then stops, so I have to keep restarting it. this wont work since the tape is 45 minutes long. does anyone have a solution to this problem.

That happens if there are pauses, or blank spots on the tape.

 

Try capturing, using WinDV, which is free. You can then use the .avi file in VideoWave, for editing.

OK same problem...... did go to Windows Movie Maker and it flawlessly captured, automatically broke the tape into scenes and has solid editing tools. Of course all that is free--so why did I buy Roxio....the supposed largest selling photo editing software?

 

 

I am working with Roxio to resolve, they want to blame Sony or my new computer or Vista....but the fact that the new computer works with Vista and Sony speaks for itself.

WMM has one or two features that might be usefull in Roxio but WMM has very limited editing compared to EMC 8,9 10 ....
