Advice Needed Prior To Installing Creator Two Thousand And 9

I currently have EMC 9 installed.

I am hoping not to have to uninstall it before installing Creator 9, but I suspect that's not wise.

 

Also, I'm curious if C9 has all the features of EMC 9. Is there a feature comparison somewhere?

 

My primary reason for upgrading is that EMC 9 lost a lot of transitions and menu styles, among other content, after a clean re-install and I've been unable to get an explanation from Roxio or anyone else on why the re-install didn't include what is now missing from the original install.

 

But if I am going to lose more than I gain, I won't install Creator 9.

Transitions etc were on the second CD of the set - did you install that after installing the program?

 

Also, if you have Videowave set to software rendering, you also lose transitions (the rendering option is down to your graphics capability

 

btw - please don't refer to EMC 2009 as '9' - it causes a LOT of confusion seeing there is an EMC9 already. Why they couldn't have stuck in sequence and called it 11 is a mystery to all of us here (and has caused more problems than enough trying to work out just which version people actually have )

Actually I installed from a single, downloaded file, and everything missing was there. The "updater" file did not install in with Vista, although it did when I was using XP.

I changed the rendering option to "hardware" and bingo! the missing transitions were back. The missing menu styles in MyDVD did not return. Why Roxio tech support could not answer this question after many exchanges over weeks (and much frustration by me) is a mystery. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

 

Is there a source that compares features EMC9 to Creator 9?

You missed the boat

 

There are really 3 files…

 

First is a download manager.

 

When you run that one, it downloads 2 more:

 

xxxxxxx_Creator209Ultimate_11.0.exe

 

and xxxxxxx_EMC11Content_7Lang.exe

 

Look in the directory where you saved them in and run the Content.
