Question

I just purchased My DVD premier 10 for the sole purpose of burning DVD's of a downloaded video I purchased. After burning, the disk reads 'unsupported format' when I try to play in my DVD player I'm not a computer whiz. What am I doing wrong? (Windows XP)

It's possible the video you downloaded is encrypted but what happens when you play the dvd in your computer?

What brand of media did you use? Try a different brand of media. Some players are particular with the type of media used so check with the dvd player to see if they recommend a certain brand. You could also try burning at a slower speed.

What format is the video you downloaded, and how did you burn it to disc?

If it's a file such as an AVI or WMA and you just burned it straight to a data DVD, then you will get 'unsupported format' if your player is not capable of playing files, even though the computer will play those files from a data DVD quite happily.

In that case you will need to turn the video file into a video-DVD and burn a video-compliant DVD to disc, if you want to play it in a DVD player.
