I am trying to cleanup a home recorded audio file. The source was a 78 rpm record. A home recording from 50 years ago. A friend provided the recording as a wma file. It has a lot of noise. So much for background.
I am trying to use the Sound Editor to remove the clicks, crackles, etc. Following the Help instructions, I "Selected All," then selected "Clean Up Audio." I set the clean up options to "High."
The I selected "Export Clips/Tracks," named the file, etc. and saved it to a location.
Now, here's the problem - The resultant file sounds no different than the original.
I have gone through all the Help windows and searched multiple times and can't figure out why there is no improvement.
Am I missing a step in the process? Any suggestions?
