Roxio 10 - Opening Screen Frozen

dianew

Question

Hi There!

I'm trying to open my Roxio 10 and it opens to the usual screen (the last thing I burned) but the hourglass doesn't go away and I've given it plenty of time to open. I then have to go to the Task Manager to close it out. I've tried to reopen it 4 times, but still opens to the last screen I used to burn a CD and doesn't want to seem to start working. It's frozen and won't let me click on anything.

I burned my last CD the night before my computer's graphic card burned out and I just got it replaced last night. Everything seems to be running better than before except my Roxio is frozen.

I do have Vista and I've been using Roxio for almost a year and no problems. (BTW, I tell everyone to buy it)

Does it sound like something I can troubleshoot or should I uninstalll and reinstall it? (Which I would rather not spend time doing)

Thanks in advance! Diane

Go to the maker's site for your new graphics card and download and install the drivers from there

The ones that came with the new card could be anything up to a year old ;)

Thanks so much for the quick response!

Okay, the Graphics Card company is : It's www.evga.com/24-7 Here's one option that seemed closest to what I might need cut & pasted from their website:

5. EVGA.com Support Home Page

EVGA.com makes two different versions of the display drivers for our cards available for download and use:EVGA.com Drivers. These drivers are the same as the standard nVidia Reference Drivers of the s

Does that sound like what I need to do? Forgive me, I'm not very familiar with computers let alone "drivers".

Thanks! Diane

PS: The only place I have been in the whole world is Belfast. We absolutely loved it there. Went on a group tour with Seamus Kennedy.

Go here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Let it scan your computer for drivers (Option 2)

Then download and install

I suppose you wound up on a tour of some bars - Kelly's Cellars, Madden's, Crown and so on

Unfortunately the Crown webcam was dismantled some time back (far too many got caught there when they shouldn't have been there ;) )

Okay, it's downoading. Hope that does the trick. :)

Yep, we stayed in the hotel across the strett from the Crown Bar. Hotel Europa I think it was called. Of course, after checking in, the locals told us it was the most bombed hotel in Belfast. It was a great hotel though.

There weren't too many bars we DIDN'T visit ! HA! We really had the time of lives. I loved the locals! I'm a photographer and it was sooo beautiful! I have the most gorgeous photos from our trip!

Thanks for the links. Will certainly check them out.

I'm going to restart and see if that worked.

Thanks soooo much for your help!!

Okay, I downloaded the driver and restarted the computer, but still no luck. The Roxio program still opens with the eternal rotating hourglass and frozen. :(

Any other suggestions??

PS: If you want to look through my pictures from our Ireland trip they are on:

www.witzelphotography.com/view web galleries/click here

Find one of the last galleries "Northern Irelend" (you have to keep hitting "next" on bottom right.) If you see any pics you would like to have I would be happy to email them to you :)

I thought I posted this already, but went back to check and its gone.

I downloaded the driver update and restarted the computer, but no luck, it's still frozen in the same spot.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

After you download the new drivers, you have to uninstall the existing drivers, reboot, and install the new drivers. They don't install automatically, after downloading them.

I would suggest that you have a computer savy friend, help you out.

Hello all,

Sorry to say, my sad saga continues. My Roxio 10 was working fine for a while, today the program wouldn't even run/play. I restarted my computer and it's having the same exact problem I had to begin with. It opens to the last CD I burned and the just freezes with the hourglass spinning trying to open it.

Any suggestions??

Diane

PS: I'm dowloading the latest Roxio 10 update right now. Wish me luck!

Okay, I downloaded the latest update for Roxio 10 right from year website and restarted my computer. It took awhile, but I'm up and running again. Hope it sticks this time.

Thanks again!

Happpy New Year to you all!

Diane

Glad you are running again, but this isn't our website. We aren't Roxio. We are users of the software, just like you.
