This program is a piece of junk....I have spent countless hours trying to successfully repair the installation, and it should not be this hard...."Easy"??? I think not. I have done all the fixes suggested anywhere in the forums, spent 40 min's on the phone with a Roxio tech yesterday, and still cannot successfully burn a simple CD-R. The Sonic "My DVD" that I replaced with this didn't suck this bad. Even the tech is stumped....and I'm pretty savvy about this stuff myself..
I can successfully burn DVD's, on several different medias (Sony, HP, TDK, Verbatim), I cannot burn a simple data CD-R on ANYTHING. I have updated my DVD firmware, uninstalled ALL traces of any Sonic or Roxio product, done a "clean" install of "Easy" (twice now), done the PX engine update, uninstalled Win Media player 11, rebuilt upper and lower registers, uninstalled and redetected the drive, Windows recognizes it and says it's installed properly, and yet now "Easy" says "Drive not detected"......WTF?
I have used EasyMedia creator 7.5 for years and it installed and functioned perfectly on any machine I put it on...I cannot understand why Roxio would put out this "not ready for prime time" piece of crud......in a "red Box". not even feature it as a current program on their website, and barely support it.....I'm disgusted and removing it from my system and demanding an upgrade to EMC 9. From the looks of it ...I am not alone!
