Multiple Audio Tracks On A Single Dvd?

nafets

Question

Well, since Toast 10 is out now, here's my question: Does it finally support multiple audio tracks on a single DVD? If yes, I will buy it. If no, then I won't (too many disappointments, see my previous thread on this topic on the "Toast 9" forum: http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=38636). Unfortunately I could not find any relevant information on that topic on the website or in the product information...

Thanks in advance for any answer!

*Except for the menu styles are all changed in Toast 10 and widescreen menus now have 16x9 menu buttons.

Thank you very much for your quick answer, even though it is not the one I hoped for ( well, at least I'm saving the money for the upgrade from Toast 9 this time :P ) . Oh well, then I guess I will have to wait for Toast 11 or 12. I'm still hoping that Roxio will re-work their video DVD creator at some point in the future... On the hand DVDs may be completely "outdated" when they finally get that feature into Toast... :D

We always appreciate the feedback, even when you don't see us actively responding, but can you elaborate on how you would create the second audio track or a general workflow you'd like to see for the above scenario?

thanks

Sorry that this news never changes. My sense is it never will happen for two reasons: the one you stated that video DVD is becoming outdated (Apple hasn't updated iDVD in either of its last two iLife upgrades) and the other is that Toast is priced as a consumer product rather than a professional product. I don't know what Mac application is used to create multi-track AC3 audio tracks.

The video DVD creator for Toast 10 is the same as for Toast 9.* Therefore, you can add only one audio stream. It is possible, as before, to add an existing AC-3 audio stream with multiple tracks that Toast will multiplex with a video even if the video needs to be MPEG-encoded by Toast. But it is not possible to have Toast create an AC-3 audio stream that is more than 2-channel stereo.
