Should I Hear Audio While Attempting To Capture A Cassette?

dschopp

Question

I tried to capture a audio cassette from a JVC tape deck. It is not hook thru an amplifier. I do not hear anything while capturing and also nothing on playback. What am I doing wrong? The meters move back and forth both on the tape deck and in Roxio capturing program, but no sound. Maybe a setting on my Dell Inspiron 1420 Laptop?

Thanks

Yes, you may hear the audio depending on your audio chip. Does that laptop have a combo jack for mic and line-in? You do not need a amp for a cassette deck.

Look at the options you have for your operating system, for recording and for playback. This is for XP; Vista is different
