Videoconverter Error

Vesuvius

Question

I would convert a DVD movie(not protected, home created by LG Recording) into Divx or another format , but as soon as the videoconverter application starts, it hangs: "an error occured ..... and the application will be closed".

I tryed with others files (AVI, MP4, ecc.) and it works fine.

I made a clean installation also, but the problem remains.

Thanks for help. :angry2:

Is it just the files that you get from the "LG Recording" that give you trouble?

I am guessing they are a DVD recording - VIDEO_TS folder with VOB, IFO & BUP files inside?

Can you add them to VideoWave and do a Output As from there?

What is the output format you are after?

I would convert to Divx a movie that I saved on a support by a DVD homerecorder LG.

After recording, I would save the movie in a AVI file, smaller than a Video_TS folder(with VOB, IFO & BUP files).

Than I run Roxio Video Copy & Convert DVD Video.

In the window Add movie I go to Disk where I saved the folder.

When I click on the the movie preview icon, the application starts, but after few seconds stops and "error occurred ...."

May be the recording LG siystem not recognised by ROXIO?. But all dvd player, not LG also, read the support.

That' all.

Thanks.

I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. If you have your video on a DVD why do you want to save it as DivX?

Can you convert other video clips to Divx without error?

Generally speaking if it is crashing with any clip, it is a program fault and another Clean Install is about the only thing that will fix it.

The Clean Install must be followed to the letter. Do you follow it in English or translate it into Italian first?

I would save the movie in one file *.avi, and not in a folder Video_TS, so I can save more movies on same support.

I followed the procedure in english language.

In additon I confirm I converted in *.avi (Divx compressed) the same movie on which Roxio hangs by AVS Video Converter 6.
