How Can I Make A "play-once-then-stop" Dvd?

jkorenman

Question

Howdy all!

I'm trying to make a very simple DVD. You put in the DVD, the video autoplays, and the end of the video, the DVD stops. The DVDs I burn always go back to the beginning and play again, which I don't want. How can I turn the looping off? I have "Auto-play disc on insert" checked, and "Play all items continuously" is not checked.

Thanks so much!

Are you including a menu or did you select No menu? My sense is that with a menu your settings should have worked, but I've never tested this. The menu won't show because you have auto-play on insert checked.

If Toast can't be set up to do it the way you want you may need to use MyDVDEdit to modify the instructions in the IFO file. I've used that application to modify the aspect ratio but don't know enough about it to provide instructions on how to tell it not to repeat playback.

I don't have a menu, I just want the clip to autoplay and then the DVD to stop. It seems like it should be possible, it's a pretty simple request. I have DVDSP but I bought Toast to have the convenience of 1-click playable DVDs. Any help?

Thanks!

If you include a menu then the DVD will go to the menu at the end of playback. That will stop it from playing again. If you want the DVD player to just do nothing at the end of playing the disc you'll have to modify the IFO file yourself.
