Toast 10 Crashes On Disc-to-disc Copies

fac21

Question

My Toast 10 has a bug, where on a disc-to-disc copy, it crashes at the 17% point, and gives me a drive error message.

I know my drives themselves are fine, because when I use Toast 7 on the same system to do a disc-to-disc copy, it runs fine.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

what was the error message?

Screen shots of the error messages I get can be seen here:

The errors are also happening when I try to burn a DVD from a Video TS folder. I have it set to burn at the slowest speed (4x), my Macbook Pro and DVD burner are all than a year old.

Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Those errors are most often due to the specific DVD media you are using. The firmware in your disc burner isn't getting along with that batch of discs. I recommend Verbatim media as being highly compatible with most drives.

You can check user reports on the media you're using by inserting a disc and choosing Disc Info from the Recorder Settings menu. There is a link in the window that appears which goes to a Web site where users submit reports on specific blank DVDs.

I haven't seen any disc copy problems. Would need more details from you:

- CPU

- Optical drive(s) model & firmware

- Drive to drive copy or single drive copy

- Source disc type (data, video, audio, etc.)

- Media type (source and target)
