Creator 2009 Hangs When Trying To Create Dvd W/o Menu

wh16924

Question

I am unable to create a DVD without the menu.

I selected Advanced DVD, select no menu, call up the project I'm working on, and the program hangs at that point.

I'm running Windows XP - fully up to date on a Dell XPS M170 laptop

This is my current problem, but I regularly have the program crash during the launch. Boot the machine, then double click on the Roxio icon, it starts to load and then hangs after a few pieces of the program start. It then wants to notify Microsoft of the error - the usual type of crash situation.

My most immediate need is the ability to write the DVD without the menu.

HELP???

It could be the graphics chipset in the laptop not having enough horses for the job - did you try going to Videowave and, in tools, options, switching to software rendering?

I have not yet tried this - will do so.

I have a Dell XPS M170, with NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 Ultra video adapter

Interesting just tried this before seeing your note and got to a different point - it would not preview in Roxio MyDVD application.

The problem is showing up in the MyDVD portion of this program.

Under TOOLS/Options I ran the Graphics Hardware and Software test. I didn't write down the speeds for the respective choices but both seemed to complete successfully and when I selected "Software" it automatically set it back to "Hardware" at the end of the test.

Forget about the actual test, just set it to software and try running the program
