Adding Submenus - Mydvd

Spitz

Question

I havn't used MyDVD since Sonic MyDVD 4.5

Now that I have tried Roxio MyDVD 10....I find myself going back to the Sonic version....seems much more user friendly.

Example: main page...I want to ad a submenu: MyDVD10 will not let me make my text the "button", or simply place a button to connect to the next page. (4.5 does this very easily)

What am I missing here? This is software that should be VERY easy for the technically challenged.

Obviously neither of the 2 replying "gurus" are in customer relations or Roxio employees.

It is very much so a poorly designed site and operationaly not much better, it will not recognize my user passwords hence the new name.

As for finding other software, thanks for the insight, I got this software for the lower end stuff I do thinking it would be monkey useable easy/friendly...maybe so...but very weak in it's abilities.

I ended up using my old Sonic version for a simple job instead of this non productive ware.

I will try my original question over in tips and tricks if I can find it again.

Shall I expect such a friendly welcome over there also?

edit: I see now that I did indeed post in the "how to" area........my title was "adding submenus" I'd like to know how to...so I guess this is the right place after all

All I can say is, get used to the site design. It is WYSIWYG. We can't change it.

Also, don't post in Tips and Tricks, unless you are posting a tip or trick.

If you want a text-only button on the main menu to navigate to a sub-menu, try this:

1. In MyDVD, click Change Menu Style in the menu window.

2. Scroll down and select a menu style that has text-only showing on the main menu. An example would be the Serenity style.

3. If you now select Menu>Add sub menu, you should get only a text button on the main menu screen that will be linked to the sub menu.

4. Modify the background picture, audio, text attributes, etc. on the main and sub menus as desired.

Hope that helped. If that is not what you are trying to do, post back with some additional details.

That seems to work Merv....needs a little tweeking, but I can make it serve my purpose.

Thank you very much for the helpful suggestion.

Good Morning,

I'll try this again.

Is there a way in MyDVD to make text a "button" for a sub-menu?

If not, How can one simply make one of the preloaded buttons a link to a submenu?

At the moment, if I choose "sub-menu" it automatically gives me a "button" of a background.

Thanks for any information

I have looked actually...thank you very much. And thanks for the link.

It's just a poorly designed site

The site isn't bad when you get used to it. The tips and tricks are threads that users posted that would have wide applicability. They are in the last few version forums.

What isn't good is the search function that won't search for 3 letter words (like USB). :)

If everything is so poorly designed why don't you go to someother software...

The site is no better or worse then other sites - you just didn't look very hard.
